A downtown landmark, back to life

The Von is a chef-owned American restaurant in downtown Booneville, opened in September 2020 by Will Hooper and Allison Worley inside a building that started life around 1935 as a movie and stage theater — the same room where, as local history tells it, Elvis and Johnny Cash played a Tuesday night in 1956.

The cooking follows a simple idea in the owner's own words: take familiar things and do unfamiliar things with them, while staying down to earth. Ingredients are sourced locally, and the menu shifts with the seasons — lighter in spring, heartier around the holidays.

Locals, Northeast Mississippi Community College students, and travelers passing through all end up at the same tables. Come see the old theater — and call ahead if you're bringing a crowd.
